We will now only be using the Pixy Camera as a way to follow the robot’s owner. We have decided against using the RFID card/ reader. This is due to the fact that the vehicle will be too large and it would be very difficult to place the RFID reader close to the ground. The vehicle will be 2’ by 3’. There is a graduate student, who is majoring in manufacturing engineering, who will be drafting the plans for the base of the robot. He will be making this vehicle sensor friendly, meaning that the sensors will have the ability to move either in the horizontal or vertical direction.

There is a graduated engineer, Lonnie Pope, who will be donating motors and wheels to be used on the base for our project. He also has a circuit diagram for how to set up the motors so that they will work correctly that he will be spending to us via email. We will be in contact with Lonnie to set up times to meet to speak about real world applications for this project and any advice that he can give us since he has done a similar project to this in the past.
